Spring Cleaning and Summer Projects

Summer Projects

Today is the last day to get  The Ultimate Homemaking Bundle. If you want it you have until 11:59 tonight. Also, if you want to enter the iPad mini giveaway, you need to that before 11:59pm, too. And remember if you don’t enter, you can’t win. One really exciting thing that has happened is that  there is now a buy now, pay May 1st option for the bundle. Many people have said that they needed to wait until they got paid on the first, so the organizers figured out a way to make that possible. I love that about them.

This bundle sale is over but you get notified when there is another one by signing up here

Now, that we’ve gotten the urgent out of the way, let’s talk about summer projects, shall we. We’ve been doing some spring cleaning around here and it’s gotten me a little obsessive about getting a few projects done. I do much better with a list so that I don’t just hop from one project to another so I’m going to share my list with you. (Just like I did last year. You’ll notice a few repeats)

~Paint the living room/dining room and hall.

~Paint the bathroom and Gabriel and Benjamin’s room

~ Declutter each room – one by one- like last year the girl’s room and one half of the boy’s room are the worst

~ Finish organizing the garage – we’ve made great headway on this but  there is still a bit more to do.

~Paint grape arbor – Carl built a grape arbor from some reclaimed wood and it needs to be painted before the grapevines get too big.

~Pressure wash the house.

~Put all our digital photos on a flash drive. We try to do this every year and put them in our lockbox.

~Make some fun plant markers for the garden

~Make garden “stepping stones” with Esther – I made some with my older kids when they were little and still have them.

~Open the Etsy store with Gabriel’s beeswax and Phoebe’s messenger bags.

~Of course, we’ll be doing lots of canning, dehydrating and freezing this summer.

Girl's room update

Bathroom shelf

master bedroom update

Here are some of the projects we did last summer/fall – girls bedroom, bathroom shelf,  master bedroom update – this is the color we’ll be painting the rest of the house. I love it.

But as usual it won’t be all work and no play for us.  We have plans to go to the library and the movies each week – our theater has summer movie club and tickets are only $1.  Esther said the other day, “Why don’t we go to the movies anymore? We used to ALWAYS go.” I guess she only remembers as far back as last summer.

We’ll also be going camping for vacation and my boys have various Boy Scout camps going on. Oh, and VBS another super fun week for us.

Probably the most exciting thing that will be happening this summer is that we’ll be welcoming our first grandchild! So, we’re holding our summer plans and projects loosely so I can go help out after the baby comes.

What about you, what are you’re summer plans?

Thanks for sharing with your friends!

Angi, the "after" pictures are great! I'm really fascinated! We are about to start renovation in our home and you really inspired me!

That is a huge summer list! Good luck! Your home will look amazing when you get through it all. :-)

I know and it might not all get done, and that's ok. The painting has been something I've wanted to do since we moved in 2 1/2 years ago and just haven't made the time for.
