This Moment

Inspired by SouleMama

sewing a messenger bagBenjamin has been working on a messenger bag for a Christmas gift for one of his cousins. I love that all my boys have felt comfortable doing crafts with us, not just sewing but crotcheting, rug making and lots of other stuff.

Don’t forget to enter the giveway for an iPad mini – if you don’t enter you can’t win.

Have a lovely weekend, Friends!

yeah, if only we can remember where we put it until them ;-). Since my kids make their gifts we start thinking about them pretty early.

That's awesome! I love to see the kids sewing...but especially the boys! It's such a useful skill.

It is, isn't it. It's one of the things that I really want my kids to know how to do before they leave my home - not super duper seamstresses or tailors but at least know how to sew on a button or mend a tear. Have a great weekend!

Love everything about this picture! I know I can't force my kids into my craftsy ways, but I secretly pray at least one of them will take an interest. :-)

I cheated this week and added a little description to mine. Here is the link if you feel like stopping by! http://familyfaithfoodfabric.wordpress.com/2014/04/25/this-moment-13/

Have a great week-end!

yeah, I always add a little discription. I just can't help myself!

I've found that just allowing them to be included when they are little will go a long way. Also, really appreciating and honoring what they make. One year when Josiah was about 8 he crocheted everyone mittens, scarves and hats for Christmas...without a pattern. They are quite interesting... One hat turned out flat and we still use it as a hot pad. But we wore those interesting creations that winter. I'm sure your children will be crafty since it's part of your lifestyle, just let them try lots of different things.
