It's a monarch butterfly that just came out of it's chrysalis. There is another one in the box that came out a few hours later.

It i! I've never seen a monarch chrysalis, it was so beautiful. Now, we're on the hunt for milkweed to plant.

Very cool! We found a Praying Mantis egg case earlier this Spring and intended to keep an eye on it - I didn't really want it inside though, since there are apparently hundreds of them in one case.
