Reveal of the Handmades

Here they are, the handmade gifts we gave and received this year…

After all the sneaking around I can finally tell you about our handmades for this year. Gabriel made monogrammed mugs for everyone using this tutorial from DesignMom. Carl etched Candy and Cookie Jars for each family. I made matching pj’s for all the cousins (the girls were pink). Grandma made Esther a satin heart pillow and embroideried her name on it with furry yarn. My sister made her husband’s parents a memory quilt – I’ve hinted heavily that I would cherish a quilt like this! Christian and Phoebe made silhouttes of the younger cousins (Josiah did the older kids a few years ago). Benjamin made coasters out of hickory and cedar. And Josiah made cd’s with Christmas music for each person tailored toward their taste in music – this is my favorite rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas. Wishing you a very peaceful last weekend of 2011!

Thanks for sharing with your friends!

Patty: Thanks, Gabriel did all the mugs. However, this may be a new favorite craft of ours.

I love the mugs and like how you used colored markers instead of just black.

Your pajama bottoms with monogrammed t-shirt are a great gift idea that I’ll have to remember for next Christmas and future Birthday gifts.

Hope your new year is full of wonderful things.

Rachel: Thanks, the gifts are very simple and yet so treasured.

Alison: I've missed taking pictures of what my children have made in the past, and so I try really hard to remember now. My kids always say, "Mom, you're wasting the film." But I'm not - and it's not film anyway.
