Our “vacation”

This is the cleanest my table was during an almost 3 week period. Now, this is our only table and our only eating area so it was kind of inconvenient but we managed.

This is what we’ve been up to these last few weeks…

My children performed in our local homeschool drama club’s performance of Jookalorum which is a series of O Henry plays.

We celebrated Esther’s 5th birthday in typical Schneider fashion – no cake, just ice cream. She received Frozen and lots of Hello Kitty stuff – she was pretty happy.

The older kids when to a sock hop hosted by their dance teacher. A friend invited Phoebe over to make poodle skirts.

We painted and painted and painted. I decided to do the rest of the house. I’m so glad I did. The only way to paint with a 5 year old in the house is to let her help with the first coat and take photos of the creations.

Gabriel and I went to pick up bees he had ordered. Since Gabriel really likes to drive, I did get some work done on our upcoming ebook so that was nice.

We baked and cooked for several days to prepare for gradution and baby shower celebrations. Thank goodness our table finally got cleared off.

We cleaned and everyone helped. When I decided to sand the walls and ceilings I had no idea just how much dust there would be even with covering everything in plastic.

And we celebrated. We had over 100 people in our home this past weekend (some came both days, some only came one day). The preparing really paid off as we were able to pretty much just hang out and play. It was so fun seeing old and young alike play croquet and shuffleboard, walk through and sometimes pick the garden, check out the bees and chickens and just enjoy each others company.

What I didn’t do was write those book reviews or post a May garden update (although, I did take photos last week) but they’ll come soon. I promise.
