Our family isn’t much of a cake eating family. But brownies, oh, we can put some serious hurt on a pan of brownies. Over the years we’ve looked high and low for a gooey homemade brownie recipe. And through a lot of trial and error we finally have one.
The key to this recipe is melting the butter and heating up the sugar and cocoa in it.
- 1 cup butter (or coconut oil)
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 4 eggs
- ¾ cup cocoa
- 1 cup flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup nuts
- Melt butter in a medium pan on the stove. Stir in sugar, cocoa and vanilla. Let cool just a little. Add eggs, one at a time. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Beat well. Pour into 9X13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
