Christian’s Eagle Scout Court of Honor

Saturday we held Christian’s Court of Honor for his Eagle Scout Rank. When I think back to when he started second grade and Carl, who is also an Eagle Scout, registered him for cub scouts it seems like just yesterday and yet it seems so long ago. Christian completed his Eagle Rank this summer but our life has been somewhat crazy and so we’ve put off the Court of Honor.

We sent invitations to those close to us and those that have helped Christian along the way, because it is impossible to be a lone ranger Eagle Scout.

Phoebe and Benjamin and their friends helped decorate the fellowship hall.

The ceremony consists of several things including lighting the red, white and blue candles, calling out other Eagle Scouts, and reciting the Scout Law. Our troop uses twelve landscaping timbers to build a self supporting bridge – each timber represents a different point of the Scout Law.

Goofing off – these boys are some of Christian’s best friends

Phoebe made this cake for Christian – all by herself since I was
frantically looking through boxes for cub scout stuff.
We are so proud of Christian, not just for persevering and earning his Eagle Rank but for the man he is becoming. We have truly been blessed.

Thanks for sharing with your friends!

Congrats on your Eagle Scout accomplishment! I know it was a lot of work! I am interested in your landscape bridge for my son's Eagle ceremony. Did you have written plans for it? I would be interested in any thing you could share about it. Thank you so much, Kim Talavera

Thanks, Kim. Our third son is planning his Eagle Scout Court of Honor and so the bridge is fresh in our minds. We don't have plans but I'll try to get a post up next week with photos. I asked my son to tell me what to write and it was a little complicated without photos.
