This morning we went to the Family Outdoor Expo. We had a great time. There was some… …shoulder rides…horse rides…lots of rock wall climbing There was also a little fishing, BB shooting, lama and camel petting and, of course, candy eating just to round out the experience. Hope you’re having a great weekend, too!
May 2007 on Padre Island Carl turns 42 today! Unfortunately, he had to work today and has a scout meeting tonight so we don’t have alot of time to celebrate. Here’s what we have up our sleeves to surprise him. For dinner we’re making fried calamari – you know, squid– with marinara sauce, spaghetti, baked […]
Thank you for all of the condolences you guys have sent our way through comments, email, cards and flowers. We feel truly blessed to have such wonderful friends and family!
Yesterday morning my dad passed away. He got up at 4:30 to excercise, have his coffee and watch the news before he headed to the office – just like he did every morning. He died quietly on the couch at some point before 7:00. If he could have picked how he would pass, this is […]
Here’s pictures of our snow day! The kids had a great time playing in it! Esther and I sat in the porch swing just watching it come down – truly relaxing. The next 2 days we made tamales and somehow “misplaced” the camera. I was beginning to think it got rolled into a corn husk. […]
Yesterday we went to the Houston Museum of Natural Science in Sugarland to see the Naria exhibit. The kids love Naria! Carl started reading the books – complete with “voices” – to them when Christian was about 5 years old. Then we got the Focus on the Family Radio Theater cds and have listened to […]
Here’s a few pictures from our Thanksgiving. We started the day with these “turkeys” made out of cinnamon rolls and canned biscuits. Phoebe and Benjamin had a great time making them and all the kids had fun eating them! Gabriel’s birthday is next month and Grandpa and Grandma gave him his gift early. Remote controlled […]
Tonight was Christian, Josiah and Gabriel’s Court of Honor for Boy Scouts. A couple of times a year the boys are presented the awards that they have earned. The boys have really worked hard this past year. Christian has already gotten his Life Scout rank and he received several merit badges. His next rank is […]
Here’s a few pics from our recent trip to the Texas Renaissance Festival. The older boys were pretty much on their own so they are not represented well in the pictures. Rest assured that they had a great time talking to the blacksmith, looking at chainmail and swords, eating turkey legs and just generally being […]
welcome to the new blog! Actually, it’s the old blog with a new name. However, we do have a new house in the country. We are so thankful. It’s amazing how much more peaceful a home can be when 4 boys are not sharing one room. Not that they were bad or anything, that’s just […]
