42

May 2007 on Padre Island

Carl turns 42 today! Unfortunately, he had to work today and has a scout meeting tonight so we don’t have alot of time to celebrate. Here’s what we have up our sleeves to surprise him. For dinner we’re making fried calamari – you know, squid– with marinara sauce, spaghetti, baked zucchini, salad and chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting. We might even have some sparkling grape juice, because it’s not everyday you turn 42!

Right before Christmas we saw a commercial for the handy tool- Black & Decker MSW100 Ready Wrench– and Carl said, “That’s really cool.” I searched high and low for it and no local store had it. A few weeks ago, I finally thought to search online and found it at Amazon. The really cool thing is that I had a some gift certificates thanks to Swagbucks in my Amazon account so it didn’t show up on our debit card. Won’t he be surprised!

We feel so blessed to have Carl as husband and father!

Carl is fun, way “funner” than me – remember “the spa”.

He also has a very strong sense of right and wrong and is willing to stand on what he knows is right even if it is hard.

He has a very strong work ethic and is willing to do whatever it takes to support his family. Even when it isn’t very personally fulfilling. I hope my boys learn this trait well.

Most of all, he loves Jesus and is continually trying to lead our family closer to Him!

Happy Birthday, Carl, we love you!!

Thanks for sharing with your friends!
