To help celebrate Hope-Thriving While Unemployed I asked several of my favorite ebook authors if they would help me by sponsoring an “encouragement” giveaway. Only one of these books is about being unemployed so this giveaway is really for everyone.
Today I want to share with you a little more about each ebook.
21 Days to a More Disciplined Life by Crystal Paine
I first read 21 Days to a More Disciplined Life when Crystal did a series on her blog, Money Saving Mom, about daily routines and being disciplined. One of the things I live about this book is that Crystal doesn’t presume to know what you need to be more disciplined at. Instead she walks you through a few days of helping you figure out a what you need to work on – not everything, that would be overwhelming, but the one or two most important things for you.
Act on Your Craft by Renee Harris
I met Renee of Made On… last fall when our books were in an ebook bundle together. I was very impressed by her excitement about selling her handmade lotions in addition to writing. Her family has worked together to create a successful home-based craft business. And she shares all her tips in Act on Your Craft.
Homestead Cooking With Carol by Carol J. Alexander
Everything Home with Carol is one of my go to places for canning advice. I was so excited when she put all her homestead cooking know-how into Homestead Cooking With Carol. Although this book has recipes in it, it’s not a recipe book. It a book to help you manage a cooking-from-scratch kitchen effectively and efficiently. Even if you don’t have a homestead you will be inspired to cook from scratch and, as we all know, cooking from scratch is a more frugal way to eat than buying convenience foods.
76 Free Things to do With Kids by Shannon Brown
I just love this book! I’ve been a mom for a long time – over 20 years – and I thought I knew all the free things you could do with children. But I was pleasantly surprised to find some new ideas. I’ve decided to write all the ideas on slips of paper and put them in a jar. Then let Esther pick a slip out of the jar to help us finish out the summer strong. Shannon blogs over at Growing Slower where she writes about natural living on a budget.
The Art of Gardening by Susan Vinskofski
This is the most beautiful ebook I have ever seen. But it’s not only beautiful it is full of great information on gardening from the ground up. Susan blogs at Learning and Yearning about gardening and frugal living. Here’s the deal, you don’t need acres and acres of land to garden and provide for your family. You also don’t have to spend a lot of money. Susan’s book and her site are great inspiration!
UnEMPLOYED Faith by Roseann Cunningham
While I was doing research on unemployment, I came across Roann’s book UnEPLOYED Faith. Rosann sent me a copy and I was very impressed with this ebook. It is written for wives of unemployed husbands but I think it would be encouraging to any wife. It’s very thought provoking about how do we honor and respect our husbands, publicly and privately, when things are tough. Rosann blogs at RosannCunningham where she writes to encourage wives.
