We had an amazing Thanksgiving weekend that was filled with doing a whole lotta nada (that means "nothing"- for those of you who are not bilingual). Getting to that point of doing nothing took some work. Our week started with Gabriel and Phoebe making pies for some friends to earn a little extra spending money. And while we had a few bedlam moments here and there, like spending 6 hours running around town looking for pie tins with lids, all in all it was a great experience for them.
Our actual Thanksgiving Day was filled with family, Carl's parents, bother and his family and my sister. For years, we went to my grandma's house for Thanksgiving and had Thanksgiving at our house the Saturday after Thanksgiving. When she passed away a few years ago we started having Thanksgiving at our house on the day and started making some new traditions.

This is the Man Meeting - all men, young and "more mature" are involved. And what could command such a meeting....
fireworks. I know, fireworks are not a traditional Thanksgiving event and most fireworks are not shot off during the day, but, hey, we live in the country and can do things like that.

This sweet boy is our new nephew and I have to say he was a huge motivator in us getting everything ready early so I could hold him the entire day... which I pretty much did.

Phoebe chose not to do fireworks and instead played with Esther and our other nephew on the trampoline. Besides running circles around Pheobe and jumping, they would shout "boom" when they heard the fireworks go off. Great fun!

This is Esther going "bye bye". She loves to open the cabinet door, climb in and say "bye bye". This time she took a snack, just in case she gets hungry!
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving that was filled with family fun.
