what are you doing?...
... and what should you be doing? I ask these questions alot to my children, it usually goes something like this:
Mom: What are you doing?
Child: Irritating my brother.
Mom: What should you be doing?
Child: Being nice.
Or like this:
Mom: What are you doing?
Child: Playing with Legos.
Mom: What should you be doing?
Child: Cleaning my room.
But yesterday it went something like this:
Mom: What are you doing?
Child: Math
Mom: What should you be doing?
Child: um, playing in the rain?
Oh, yes, every once in a while Mom gets her priorities in order!
Can you hear them? Laughter filling the neighborhood.
A priceless morning was spent playing in the rain, building "dangs" in the gutter and running around like wild children.
And what was little miss 5 month old doing during all this play? Crawling, yes crawling, around the livingroom trying to get into all kinds of mischief. So, of course, I had to play with her all morning to keep her out of trouble.
Christian was the only one who spent the morning doing what he should be doing. He's super motivated to not get behind in any of his classes this year. It makes me a proud mama to see him putting his work first, but it also makes me a little sad because it means my first baby is really growing up!

Hope your weekend if full of priceless moments!
